Anion binding in metal-organic frameworks

چکیده
Despite commonly being used as the hosts for gases, solvents and other neutral molecules, metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have received recent attention supramolecular anion binding with a broad range of environmental biological applications. The review summarizes development this area, anion-binding MOFs categorized based on different design strategies including cationic anion-exchange capabilities, that feature coordination to metal nodes, well functionalized non-covalent or covalent anion-recognition motifs. We also discuss advantages using MOF scaffold compared small-molecules receptors.

Protein Immobilization in Metal-Organic Frameworks by Covalent Binding
Metal-organic Frameworks (MOFs), possessing a well-defined system of pores, demonstrate extensive potential serving as a platform in biological catalysis. Successful immobilization of enzymes in a MOF system retains the enzymatic activity, renders the active site more accessible to the substrate, and promises recyclability for 10 reuse and solvent adaptability in a broad range of working condit...
متن کاملSpin Signature of Nonlocal Correlation Binding in Metal-Organic Frameworks.
We develop a proper nonempirical spin-density formalism for the van der Waals density functional (vdW-DF) method. We show that this generalization, termed svdW-DF, is firmly rooted in the single-particle nature of exchange and we test it on a range of spin systems. We investigate in detail the role of spin in the nonlocal correlation driven adsorption of H_{2} and CO_{2} in the linear magnets M...
متن کاملDistinguishing Metal–Organic Frameworks
We consider two metal-organic frameworks as identical if they share the same bond network respecting the atom types. An algorithm is presented that decides whether two metal-organic frameworks are the same. It is based on distinguishing structures by comparing a set of descriptors that is obtained from the bond network. We demonstrate our algorithm by analyzing the CoRe MOF database of DFT opti...

These MOFs, also known as porous coordination polymers (PCPs) are characterized by their high porosity, ...
متن کاملDocking in metal-organic frameworks.
The use of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) so far has largely relied on nonspecific binding interactions to host small molecular guests. We used long organic struts (approximately 2 nanometers) incorporating 34- and 36-membered macrocyclic polyethers as recognition modules in the construction of several crystalline primitive cubic frameworks that engage in specific binding in a way not observed...
